Taste a wide range of tropical fruits and enjoy

Explore the amazing outback areas that stretch westward from
the coastal plain.
Go white water rafting along a raging river, or get a real "living
on the edge" buzz from any of our very own extreme adventure
attractions.
Take a swim in the ultra modern free entry Cairns Esplanade
lagoon, then cast your eyes across the calm waters of Trinity
Inlet and you will see coastal mountains and mangrove areas
that have changed little since the site was named by Captain
James Cook in 1770.
Nightly entertainment you can enjoy Johno's Blues Bar with their
live bands, Dine the night away at any of the numerous first
class international restaurants, Dance at one of the local night
clubs, Wonder your way through the night markets or stroll along
the Esplanade.

Cairns Beaches |
| The beautiful unspoiled beaches of Cairns,
with their golden sand stretching more than 26 kilometres along
the Coral Sea. Sprinkled along the north coast of Cairns City
and within short driving distance, Cairns Beaches are a delightful
escape and an ideal location for some fun in the sun. |
10 minutes drive from Cairns Airport, is Machans Beach. This
is where you find local fishermen casting for bait fish and
dropping a line. Holloways Beach, is the
next beach and is great for long strolls along the oceans edge.
Nearby is Yorkeys Knob with a 200 birth International
Marina - Half Moon Bay Marina and Yorkeys
Knob Boating Club where you can enjoy a meal and refreshing
drinks over looking the Marina. Trinity Beach
is 15 minutes from the airport and offers fine dining and beauty
services on the beachfront.
Kewarra Beach is the next beach you come to
and is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, rich with bird
life and spectacular butterflies.
Clifton Beach, features a premier golf course
- Paradise Palms Golf Course with an 18 hole
championship layout.
Palm Cove, 25 minutes from the airport, offers
a fabulous jetty for fishing & multitude of water sports
- sea kayaking, jet bikes, catamarans, surf skis, paddle boats,

Tropical Rainforests |
| Australia's tropical rainforests are the oldest
continually surviving rainforests on Earth and have been internationally
recognised as one of the most ecologically fascinating natural
areas in the world. World Heritage listed in 1988, these rainforests
date back more than 100 million years and once covered the entire
Australian landscape. They were home to the dinosaurs and several
of the world's first flowering plant species. Located between
Cooktown and Townsville, covering an area of 900,000 square
hectares Australia's tropical rainforests are home to an amazing
array of the country's plant and animal life. |
